Written by the daughter of a Cuban emigrant, this book paints a realistic colorful picture of what life was like as Castro took power in Cuba. With only slight embellishment and some added romance, this is all based on the real experiences of Graciela's mother and her family. For those of us fortunate enough to have lived with no first-hand experience of communism and revolutions, reading My Cafe Cubano is an easy way to enlighten yourself to that part of history. I recommend it to anyone who grew up in America and is young enough to wonder why our country feels such emnity towards Castro's regime.
