(More customer reviews)I'm Canadian (but not First Nations) and laughed so much during the first of these cassettes that I had to stop and buy all of them. The humour is consistent, the delivery is excellent, and the topics are hilarious - I keep listening just to find out how many different ways Jasper Friendly Bear can make Tom buy his coffee.

The cafe of the book features all sorts of "dead dog" items on the menu, such as the ever-popular deep fried puppy whatnots. This cafe came to life when Kathleen Flaherty (Dead Dog Cafe producer/director) and Tom King got together to think about a short radio series. Tom came up with the idea of running the show from a cafe, with three native characters who didn't know anything about radio. Since the name 'Dead Dog Cafe' did him good service in the novel, he decided to revive it for the radio series.
